Taster Sessions

Taster sessions make ideal gifts, small corporate events or for a person or group of people wishing to spend a couple of hours trying the sport. As with Have-a-Go’s members give up their own time to run these sessions so, whilst we will try to put together a small team of volunteers, we cannot guarantee to do so, and the more notice you can give, the more likely it is that we will be able to help. For more information please email lessons@batharchers.org.

Beginner Lessons

Archery is a sport, not a game and can be dangerous to you and to others if not done correctly, so you must be trained to take part (even experienced archers wishing to join are assessed by an experienced club member). Training is outdoors so we usually run 2 sets of lessons during the summer, one starting early May and the second in early July.  Both run on Monday evenings, last six weeks and cost £55, payable in advance, however £10 (£5 for juniors) is deducted from your membership fee if you decide to join the club after the course. Details will be sent out to all those on the waiting list in the spring. Our courses are very popular and places are allocated on a first-come first-served basis so, if you would like to participate next summer, make sure you get your application in early. To apply, please email lessons@batharchers.org; you will receive a confirmation and we will contact you in March next year.

Please note that there is a minimum age of 12 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also participating in the course.  Juniors, between 13 and 16, must have a parent or guardian present on the field during the lessons but not necessarily participating in the course. Once a member of the club, a parent or guardian (or a responsible adult representing the parent or guardian) must be present at all times when shooting until the archer reaches 16.
